Colonia! A break before the cold.

Clara and I decided to take a long weekend at the end of May, to prepare for the unavoidable winter that it’s amongst us.  On a side note, I would actually consider today to be quite close to a ‘hard core’ Uruguayan winter day.

Clara, with her traditional rural attire lies down in La Vignia, a Colonia farm stablishment ideal for a quiet and relaxed vacation. ..We spent a three day weekend sort of working, sort of vacationing. Creating and preparing itineraries for allows this extraordinary mix of leasure and work. ..La Vignia, Colonia Valdense, Colonia, Uruguay. (Martin Herrera Soler)

Soon I will share more details on our trip findings and writeup a brief travelogue.  We had an awesome time and found some amazing jewels to share with you.  In the meantime here goes an image of Clara laying down in the grass when we arrived.  We were very fortunate with the weather.  We never got around to wearing our jackets, and that at the end of May, it’s quite a treat on behalf of our parting autumn.

The nice thing about my job at Latitude34South is that I can take these trips and still ‘call it work’.  After all I am researching a new itinerary to add to our flourishing offering for travel photographers.  If you have recommendations on photography worthy rural places, please share them with me in the comments or send me an email.  We are currently working on an itinerary that will allow our travelers to experience first hand what it is like to live and work in rural South America.  So any suggestions are more than welcomed!
